“Not harmony, but conflict. Not coexistence, but struggle. The world shaped by the instincts of living beings is never idealised. And yet, precisely because of this, it is undeniably intertwined—and profoundly beautiful.” An exctract from the book

At KYOTOGRAPHIE 2026, Atsushi Fukushima is presenting his exhibition “Under the Burning Sun.” His latest photobook, “I scramble for Vegetables with Animals in the Fields in the Summer,” will be published by Seigensha.

The book will be available for early release at the KYOTOGRAPHIE PHOTOBOOK FAIR, taking place on May 9–10. To celebrate the publication, a talk event will be held on May 10, featuring Atsushi Fukushima, along with graphic designer Takumi Nemoto and KG+ Program Director Yuki Nakazawa. A book signing session is also scheduled to take place after the talk

We warmly invite you to join us, along with the KYOTOGRAPHIE PHOTOBOOK FAIR.
