Join us in creating your own personalised photo story and book! In this workshop, children will have the opportunity to shoot and work alongside photographer Akihito Yoshida to explore this year's theme 'Border', examining the various borders present in their surroundings.
With guidance from Yoshida and Moe Suzuki, participants will go and shoot pictures in Gosho Park and then learn how to craft a photo story and create their very own book.
The kids will bring their own photo book back Home after the Workshop.

Cameras will be provided by KYOTOGRAPHIE.

Lecturer Lecturer

  • Akhito Yoshida

    Born in Miyazaki, Japan in 1980. Lives and works in Kyoto. After graduating from the Department of Education for Children with Disabilities, Faculty of Education, Shiga University, he worked as a Japanese language teacher in Thailand for one year. After returning to Japan, he worked as an elementary school teacher for 6 years and started working as a photographer in 2010.
    He has held exhibitions and publications in Japan and abroad, and has received high acclaim for his work.
    In 2023, he launched the photography book publishing label "Three Books" with Moe Suzuki.
    Major publications include "Brick Yard" and "Tannery" (both private editions), "THE ABSENCE OF TWO" (Seigensha, Editions Xavier Barral), "Desperately Photographer" (Aki Shobo), and "The Dialogue of Two" (2023, nominated for the 47th Ihei Kimura Photography Award). He has received numerous awards, including the Nikkei National Geographic Photography Award 2015 and the Grand Prize in the People category.

  • Moe Suzuki

    Visual artist based in Tokyo.
    Her artistic practice, which combines photography with archives, videography, illustration, and bookbinding, focuses on the subject of memories and landscapes that transform along the passage of time, changes in environment, development, disability, and relationships within the community. ‘SOKOHI’ (2020) won several dummy book awards and was exhibited in Japan and internationally, such as in Belfast, Singapore, Marseille, and Ballarat.
    She also collaborates with other artists for their photobook-making, in technical and design aspects.
    Co-founder of the independent publishing house ‘Three Books’ with Akihito Yoshida.
