Kids will first experience the “destructive” side of creation, crushing the ceramics into pieces. Then, the “invention” begins as kids creatively assemble the pieces into a new artwork they will take home.
This hands-on workshop is a rare opportunity to learn more about local ceramic art alongside a professional.

Mizuki Yoshida
Mizuki Yoshida studied ceramics at Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts) and specialized in integrated sculpture in graduate school. She further honed her pottery molding skills at the Kyoto Prefectural Institute of Ceramic Technology.
Her work revolves around creating ceramic pieces inspired by Shōki (鍾馗), a protective deity often found on rooftiles as a guardian figure. Alongside her artistic practice, she actively organises events and workshops that explore and connect with local culture and history.
