The tomason is a concept coined by Akasegawa Genpei (1937-2014). It refers to "objects" that are useless and absurd, scattered throughout the city: staircases leading nowhere, sealed doors, blocked windows, purposeless awnings, or enigmatic forms such as the "atomic explosion" tomason.
After visiting the exhibition "KyOtOmAsOn MArAthOn", where we will learn to identify these urban anomalies, we will set off on an exploration of the neighborhood to find and document them. By observing, photographing, and sharing our discoveries, we will engage in the art of street observation, while taking a playful yet critical look at our urban environment.
