Kyoto’s new hidden gem is eponymous to ‘Shinmonzen Dori’ – renowned as The Street of the Artists, Fine Arts and Antique shops; a neighbourhood rich in arts, historical heritage and cultural legacy. The project has been a labour of love for over 10 years and has been designed by one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary architects - Tadao Ando for the modern travellers. Nine spacious and individually decorated suites feature private balconies overlooking the Shirakawa River provide a luxury retreat from the sights and sounds of Gion’s buzzing alleys and cobbled streets. Three of the nine suites offer a traditional Japanese Staying experience with tatami themed bedroom and Iwata twin futon beds.

Ace Hotel Kyoto was designed based on the concept of "East Meets West" inspired by art and music in an renovated old telecommunication building called Shinpukan built in 1927. The lobby, directly connected to the Karasuma-Oike subway station, is open to everyone 24 hours a day.

This year, Ace Hotel Kyoto will be taking part in KG+. The gallery is a passageway connecting the hotel and the Shinpukan.
