STILLSCAPE
Tetsuya Nagato, Taro Mizutani
STILLSCAPE, a collaborative set of works by Tetsuya Nagato and Taro Mizutani, is based on the two artists’ shared point of view. From object to landscape, from landscape back to object, micro to macro, ultimately from past to future. In these works, the two artists each interpret these structures, using photographs, collage and other methods to create their images.

NEW JAPAN PHOTO EXHIBITION
Kohei Fujisawa/Makoto Oono/Masaru Takahashi/Nana Yoshimura/Taiki Matsune/Yuko Kamei
This exhibit is to celebrate the publication of this new catalog, showcasing the work of young photographers with promising futures. The catalog is an effort to tie together the work of these young Japanese photographers with gallerists and critics outside Japan who have shown an interest in them. The catalog is an overview of snippets of “the now” in Japan, as seen through the eyes of 180 young artists. It is our hope that it will be a valuable tool for people involved in art and photography outside Japan to discover the work of fresh young talent in Japan.

Trace of The Light
Chihiro Ichinose
In Chihiro Ichinose’s own words: “These are places where I spent some time last summer. I lost myself in landscapes that seemed to be a visualization of my own feelings. And through this process, both my feelings and the landscape seemed to become something different than they were before.” These works depict these changing relationships between Ichinose and the people and places he encountered.

CABIN
Hiroyuki Yamada
In his work, Hiroyuki Yamada wonders what people are looking at, what they are feeling, and what will remain with them as memories. From his own life, whether on expeditions to the backcountry on snow-covered mountains somewhere in the world, or in the forests of Alaska, what remains etched deep in his memory, and shown in his photographs, are the views from the windows of mountain huts. The “Cabin” series in the current exhibition shows the process of constructing landscapes from memory, exploring the connections between time and space in his memory, and in the experience of taking photographs through windows. Using the camera to return to that time, that moment, examining the presence of nature as it stands outside the glass.
