NAN ZHOU “West of the Sun”
Nan Zhou’s work is based on a psychological description of the 1992 Haruki Murakami novel “South of the Border, West of the Sun.” Rather than drawing on specific words and phrases, he derives his inspiration from the linear structure of the love affair featured in the novel. The motif of his work is the separation from concrete letters and words, and a focus on the reconstruction of the aesthetics of a lustful relationship between a man and a woman.
