“Fingerprints” explores a world of print left by human touch. This installation features photos gathered from all around Europe and a performance developed from Kyoto-style climbing kilns.
Gonzalez conveys memories by spreading photos over a period of time, and also by a printing technique of pressing negatives against photosensitive paper.
This collective performance expresses actual fingerprints as a gesture connecting us to humans who left their traces in caves tens of thousands of years ago.
“Contemplation” is displayed in the former Junpu Elementary School, a work that focuses on the moment humans and nature connect through meditation.
